<p><strong>Directions:</strong></p>
<p>In a 3 1/2-quart or larger electric slow cooker, combine onion, carrots, potatoes, and mushrooms. Coat beef cubes with flour, then add to cooker and sprinkle with thyme. Add tomatoes and wine. Cover and cook at low setting until beef is very tender when pierced (8 to 10 hours).<br />
Skim and discard fat from stew, if necessary. Stir in peas. Increase cooker heat setting to high; cover and cook until peas are heated through (10 to 15 more minutes). Season to taste with salt. Makes 6 to 8 servings.</p>

<p><strong>Apple Dumplings:</strong><br />
1 cup applesauce<br />
2 eggs, well beaten<br />
2 tsp parsley, chopped<br />
2 cups flour<br />
2 tsp baking powder<br />
1 tsp salt</p>
<p><strong>Methods:</strong></p>
<p>Coat meat with mixture of flour,salt and pepper.Combine meat,onion,garlic,beef broth apple juice, vinegar, thyme and curry in Crockpot.Cover and cook on auto 7 hours or high 4 to 5 hours or low 8 to 10 hours.Remove cover and place tablespoons of dumpling batter on top of stew.Cover and cook on high for 20 minutes.</p>
<p>To make dumpling batter, blend applesauce with eggs and parsley add flour,baking powder and salt and beat into egg mixture.</p>

<p>Cover crock pot and cook 1 hour on high. Stir meat and vegetables into sauce, and cook an additional 6 1/2 to 8 hours on low.</p>

<p>Combine steak sauce,bouillon cubes,salt,pepper,sugar and hot water in crock pot stir well. Add remaining ingredients except flour mix carefully.Cover and cook on LOW setting for 7 to 10 hours on high setting for 4 hours.Before serving remove chicken and debone and then return meat to crock pot and stir well.</p>
<p>To thicken gravy, make a smooth paste of flour and 1/4 cup of juices from stew. Add to crockpot. Cover and cook on HIGH setting until thickened.</p>
